Darice Bossen, CHt

Darice Bossen was a psychology major at Georgia State University when she first became interested in hypnosis. But it was not until she became an executive at an international steel distributor that she first experienced the benefits of hypnosis. She was so impressed with the results that, in 1997, she made a complete career change and has never looked back. She has helped thousands of people reach their goals and make positive changes in their lives.

She was instrumental in the inception of the only state authorized school of hypnosis and served as the Assistant Director and the main instructor since it opened in 1998.

Mrs. Bossen enjoys a successful hypnotherapy practice in Marietta. She is a certified clinical hypnotherapist, a certified HypnoBirthing® practitioner, a certified instructor of hypnotherapy, and an accomplished lecturer.

About Hypnotherapy

Are you weak or lazy? Do you lack will power? Are you set in your ways? All these disparaging terms are applied to people who find themselves unable to change a behavior they know is not good for them, such as smoking, overeating, excessive worrying, lack of motivation, and many other negative behaviors. But the fact is, there is a reason why many people find themselves unable to make the changes they desire, and that reason is the subconscious mind. When I talk about the subconscious mind, I am referring to the part of your mind responsible for the vast majority of your behavior.

Think about this- Do you have to tell your heart to beat? Do you have to command your system to operate at 98.6 degrees, or tell your mind to become fearful when you find yourself in danger? More to the point, do you tell yourself to have urges you can\'t control? Do you say, \"Why don\'t I worry all day?\" Do you tell yourself that today is a good day to engage in self destructive behaviors? Of course not. All of these responses, and so many more, are automatic, because the subconscious mind is in the drivers seat for so many of our feelings. It is how the mind protects us and keeps us alive.

Now, back to those ugly words such as lazy or weak minded- What is actually happening in the case of, say, a bad habit, is that your subconscious mind, having no logic or reason, believes the behavior is good for you, and so it resists the change in behavior you consciously desire. The goal of hypnotherapy is to dive under the surface of your conscious mind, and speak directly to the subconscious, and retrain it to align with your conscious goals.

In essence, you have been fighting against yourself, in a losing battle to change a certain habit or behavior. A skilled hypnotherapist uses the state of hypnosis to speak directly to your subconscious mind, and give positive suggestions, so both parts of your mind are in harmony. The human brain is a powerful organ, and hypnosis harnesses that power to create positive changes in your life.
